The ministry for men at Grace Presbyterian Church is known as GMen. The purpose of Men’s Ministry is:
To help men deepen their faith that they may become
disciples of Jesus Christ in the world and
spiritual leaders in their families, church, work and community.
Activities: (All men, whether church members or not, are invited to all of these men’s activities.)
Men’s Breakfast – This activity is held every Tuesday morning from 7:30 to 9:00 at Southfork Hotel on Central Expressway in Plano. This is a fellowship gathering for men.
Men’s Bible Study – This activity is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month in the church library. This group has used various topical studies of the Bible. Currently it is using the Serendipity Bible for Groups to study its way from Genesis to Revelations. Men are invited to join at any time as each lesson stands on its own.
Men’s Book Study – Men are encouraged to form groups and study books of interest. Periodically groups form for long term study of a variety of books and occasionally groups will form for short term study of a single book or series of books.
Books studied have included
Man In The Mirror
The Jesus I Never Knew
The Purpose Driven Church
Presbyterian Creeds
The Case For A Creator
Coming Back to God
Seven Seasons of the Man in the Mirror
Doubts about Darwin
There is currently a group that meets at noon every Thursday in the church parlor.
Men are invited to join this group at any time or contact Keith Davis about forming a new group at a different time convenient to them.
Friday morning men's study – Meetings are open for fellowship starting at 6:45 am. Viewing of a Bible study video by a staff member of the Man In The Mirror organization starts promptly at 7:00. Discussion, the sharing of concerns and prayer in small groups follows. Each meeting is done by 8:00 am.
Each week is a stand alone lesson, so don't feel you cannot join if you miss a session.
Sessions meet most Fridays during the school year - September through May.
Top Gun Program – This program is an in-depth nine-month (34 week) program, designed to model, teach, and encourage practical application of biblical principles. It is a great resource for building fully-devoted followers of Jesus. Whether you are a new Christian or you are on fire for the Lord, this program provides study and fellowship. Men who enroll in the program must be devoted to regular attendance and completion of homework before each meeting.
The next course will begin in fall 2008.
Special Events – Periodically during the year the GMen have special events such as all church men’s breakfast, special on-site speakers and off-site events such as Promise Keepers conferences.
Watch the church newsletter and weekly bulletin for more information.
Bulletin Folding Team – This group of dedicated men gather each Thursday morning at 9:00 am to print, fold and stuff Sunday worship bulletins. .
GMen Committee – Any interested men are welcome to voice their views and help organize GMen events by participating in this committee. They meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the church library. Look for reminder announcements in the church bulletin
