The Day School is a ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church. Our mission is to be a Christian early education program which will provide care, protection and educational experiences for children in accordance with church beliefs and the developmental guidelines of the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The Day School curriculum is unit-oriented, based on NAEYC standards for Developmentally Appropriate Practice. The curriculum provides for all areas of your child’s development, including the following areas of focus:
Intellectual; Physical; Social; Academics; Music; Computer
Our goal is to present a Christian atmosphere. During the year, we enhance our regular curriculum with a Faith curriculum which includes Bible stories, songs and activities. Chapel is held monthly in the sanctuary at 9:20 am. Parents are welcome to attend.
Our staff is composed of highly dedicated, qualified people. Degreed teachers staff our 4-year-old and Pre-K classes. All teachers are experienced in working with pre-school age and are required to be nurturing, creative and loving caregivers. Your child will sense an atmosphere of love and support throughout our school.
Each staff member must complete 15 hours of continuing education in early childhood related classes/courses, as required by the Texas Department of Human Resources. Our teachers are also trained in CPR and First Aid.
Our class student/teacher ratio is different for each class, depending on the ages of the children. One of our goals is to keep our class numbers low in order to devote more individualized time to your child.
You are welcome to come by our facilities and take a tour of our school any time, no appointment necessary. (Tours are not given during the naptime, 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm.) Call our office for information at 972-867-9719, or email the director, Nancy Hagan (email).
