What Requires Session Approval? Approved by Session August 22, 2006
Purpose: To clarify for all committees and ministries the parameters under which they are empowered to do their work.
- Requests for Fund Raising of any kind.
- Requests to spend beyond the Operating Budget allocation.
- Requests for additional funding.
- Requests to receive gifts over $5,000 in value per family per calendar year.
- Requests to initiate new programs and/or make changes to existing programs which will affect other ministry areas.
- Requests to expand or initiate ministries beyond the currently approved scope of ministry.
- Requests to create new ministry teams, task forces and subcommittees
- Requests to dissolve committees and ministries that are no longer needed.
- Requests to bring in program leaders, speakers, teachers, etc. who are not members of the congregation and/or the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.
- Requests to use books, study materials, programs and curriculum that are not published by:
Abingdon, Alban, Augsbury, Chalice, Cokesbury, Cornerstone, CSS, Group, Westminster/John Knox, Youth Specialties Publishing, Zondervan.
- Requests to participate in camps, conferences, seminars or other events not being sponsored or hosted by the Presbyterian Church USA.
- Requests to celebrate the Lord’s Supper
- Requests to change the operational policies and procedures of the church
