Full-Time Business Administrator

Grace Presbyterian Church is a PC(USA) congregation within Grace Presbytery, with office hours Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Church and its Grace Christian Day School are located in west-central Plano TX, on Park Boulevard east of Preston Road.

DUTIES: This role is responsible for timely and accurate updates and reporting of integrated financials for the Church and School. The position directly performs and/or supervises other employees and volunteers.  Responsibilities include managing cash receipts and bank remittances; recording contributions and other forms of income; managing invoices, accounts payable, check requests, and preparing cash disbursements; reconciling electronic transactions, bank and credit card statements; and performing various financial and human resources (HR) administrative tasks as required. Further duties include working with ministry staff and church committees on annual budgeting; analysis of financial trends and forecasts; financial and HR policy assessment, recommendation, and implementation; and oversight of certain financial, administrative, IT, and property outsourced contracts. Other HR duties require coordinating payroll, new hire, and termination information with an external payroll processing service; conducting new hire on-boarding and benefits processing; tracking of employee Paid Time Off and other HR policy implementations; and maintaining accurate personnel files.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any candidate must have proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, general ledger, terminology, and best practices.  Further, the candidate must understand current HR practices and the general concepts of benefits programs. Preferred candidates will have church or non-profit full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a clear understanding for managing donor designated funds. A qualified candidate must have strong Microsoft Office skills with exceptional Excel capabilities, with abilities to generate standard and customized reports from accounting software systems. Experience with ACS Technologies and Church Community Builder applications (or similar) is preferred.  The candidate must be able to communicate financial information with church staff, members, volunteers, guests, and external financial entities such as bank staff, CPAs, accounting software service desks, outside consultants, suppliers and vendors. This role works with confidential information and must respect utmost privacy of all financial and HR data.

JOB INFORMATION: Salary will be based upon experience and is established within the parameters of the church’s annual budget. Benefits are aligned with current-year church employee benefit policies and offerings. While some flexibility of work hours is afforded, this role is expected to be present at the church office during core business hours (9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday) to interface with staff, members, and other financial business associates. Part-Time Finance Administrator

Any candidate must have knowledge of basic accounting concepts, terminology, and practices.  Preferred candidates will have church or non-profit bookkeeping or accounting experience. A qualified candidate must have solid Excel capabilities, with abilities to generate reports from accounting software systems. Experience with ACS Technologies and Church Community Builder applications (or similar) is preferred.  The candidate must be able to communicate financial information with church staff, members, guests, and external financial entities (bank staff, CPAs, accounting software service desks, outside consultants, and vendors). This role works with confidential information and must respect privacy of all financial data.

JOB INFORMATION

Hourly rate will be based upon experience and is established within church annual budget. This is a part-time position expected to work 20-25 hours per week, working at the church office with some flexibility for when hours are worked during the normal business week. The position may require additional hours during occasional peak demands.
